Weekly Menu and New Tab

Why a weekly menu?... because I'm a little OCD and my tabs menu bar was needing one more page to fill it... and still referring to the OCD thing... I like to plan, yep I'm a planner:)... So check out the new "MENU" tab and find out what is cooking at our house... you may want to plan a "surprise" visit around 6:30... or not... heck, my husband may check this out and then decide he is working "late" or not...

In the spirit of planning and organizing, I am posting a link to a weekly Meal Planner and Grocery List... great Monday Post I think, especially for us OCD people!

Flower Tutorial and more...

My name is Tiffany and I am an addict... to fabric flower making that is... I do seriously have a problem as you can see from the collage below.... I'm sharing my latest masterpiece with blogland today. My mother also has an addiction... she spoils my kids with super cute outfits.

My niece's birthday is coming up and I wanted to accessorize her outfit, which matches the one my daughter is wearing at the bottom of this post... from www.kellyskids.com... I'm warning you... don't visit if you don't have deep pockets though... way too cute!!! You'll need a pair of flip flops (these are $1/pair at the dollar store) fabric, felt, buttons, ribbon, hot glue and scissors. To begin with... I traced around the lens cap of my camera and made a pattern. (For larger flowers trace around a larger circle, like a glass or jar lid).. these are for an almost-2-year-old and they are plenty big
For each of the shown flowers you'll need four circles... so stack and cut
Next cut a small piece of felt for each flower... about the size of a 50 cent piece
Take one circle at a time and fold in half like a taco...then fold again into a one-fourth, put a dab of hot glue in the middle when you fold the second time
take another dab of hot glue and place it on the felt, then adhere your fabric
repeat in whatever pattern you like...
for the flower's center, I chose buttons, but the variations are endless...
next you'll want to dress up that $1/pair of flip flops... start with some ribbon and begin wrapping the strap... as you go dab hot glue every little bit to make sure it stays. (Strips of fabric will also work instead of ribbon)
I used quite a bit of hot glue because this ribbon was thick... like every time I went around:)
This is what the wrapped straps will look like... next
cut two more small pieces of felt...
wrap those around the straps as well... use lots of hot glue and make sure the felt is glued to itself...this will keep everything secure once your toddler starts running in these puppies...
place a large dollop of hot glue on the finished flower and center it on the flip flop... make sure the felt of the flower is glued to the felt on the flip flop... this is a very secure bond... almost like gorilla glue.... seriously! Felt on Felt is very strong!
Tah dah... glammed up dollar store shoes!... I couldn't stop there though... I wanted to make a matching headband...
to begin I shrunk the pink flower size just a tad... but kept the white the same size as used for the flip flops
create a bottom layer with the slightly larger circles and then with the slightly smaller circles glue and place the new "petals" on the seams of the bottom layer
Isn't that such a pretty flower...
Just like with the flip flops wrap your headband in felt using quite a bit of hot glue
Place a large dollop of hot glue on the flower and secure it to the headband.
Ahhhh... isn't that sweet!

Photo shoot with Ladybug #3... she says "cheeseburger"
And the sweet little toes... just because...
Hope you enjoyed another LONG tutorial from me:) For a slightly larger flower and with more petals visit The House of Smith's Blog ... just click the link House of Smith's

I♥Easter...At Home With K

I do a lot and I mean A LOT of blog searching lately. The weather is almost nice enough to tear into things outside however not quite... so while I oh-so-patiently wait I search and search for MORE projects... once in awhile I begin to feel a little guilty and then I search a little longer, pretending that I'm searching for kid crafts or something... ( in reality my kids are all a little small for projects except the one in kindergarten, oh that and I have NO patience as a preggo-lady) However in my latest searches I discovered a great blog and we are from the same great state of NEBRASKA.. click the image below to check it out.

I've only done minimal decorating for Easter and so I was in search of some fun egg projects... I found one that didn't even require me to purchase supplies and is so cute... and I suppose if I do some deep-breathing the kids can probably help:) Check it out below...

Pasta, Pasta, Pasta...!!!

Oh my word...The Pioneer Woman makes amazing food and takes amazing pictures. Do you know what carbs make me crave??? More CARBS!!! My BFF (yes that is right, I said BFF) made me a pasta dish for supper last night that was delicious... and now what am I thinking of? What kind of pasta can I make tonight:) The bread-winner of this household is playing in the dirt with his big-kid toys this time of year. (aka he is a farmer and it is time to do field work) Yes I miss him and yes I get really really tired and sometimes feel like a single parent, but there is one upside... I cook for ME and don't worry too much about him. (he lives on coffee, ruffles, Reese's, Dr. Pepper, and milk this time of year) ... food is the silver-lining and pregnancy, well, that just means more butter and portion-size doesn't exist. I was thinking I"ll try to deliver good recipes to share on Tuesdays... maybe next week I can come up with some original ones:) For now take a look at these beauties and have a glass of wine for me... oh by the way ... the three photos are all courtesy of thepioneerwoman.com Pasta With Tomato Cream Sauce

{Ultimate Blog Party 2011}

Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Just for the record I had to google "UBP blog" and figure out what in the world everyone was talking about. I saw several comments that posted stuff like, "just hopping over from the UBP" and had no idea what I was missing... what a cool thing! Wow... had to join the party:)

About me and ladycrafter14... to start with I love to use three periods in a row (...) when typing about anything, maybe too much? I recently found these { } symbols on my keyboard... had no idea they were there:) Okay seriously... I am a most-of-the time stay at home mother to almost four children. I say most of the time because I'm a Registered Nurse and still work 1-2 times per month. I love staying at home and being "Mommy." I only discovered blogging within the last two-three months. I might have an addiction? I love DIY projects, cooking, photography, and more than anything my hunky hubby and our sweet little angels! This blog is some form of expression I guess... We are raising our family in a very rural area and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Above is my baby bump... growing by the minute:) My hunky hubby and I ... Oh... the sweet little angels... this is my very favorite Christmas card so far... Last few things I Will Share with the UBP... I am living out my childhood horse-owning fantasies through my 6-year old. I love LOVE Country Music and I interrupt people frequently and spew out random thoughts and that is probably enough... oh and I'm really cranky pregnant!!! Thanks for checking me out:) Check everyone else out at.... Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Dyeing Easter Eggs... Gotta Try This!

I am the type of person that gets my hair cut twice a year and hadn't changed my style in 8-10 years... my sister-in-law became a stylist and started working at a nice little salon here in our small town. She encouraged me to try a few new things, including highlights. I called down to the salon one day to schedule an appointment to get my hair "dyed" again. This sweet little southern receptionist answers and explains, "Honey you dye easter eggs, I will schedule you for a color." okie dokie... Now that I know the difference let us all have some fun and dye some Easter Eggs this season. We'll leave the coloring to the professionals:)

Dyeing Easter Eggs is meant to be fun... this year try these different techniques as illustrated on Amanda's blog "Crafts by Amanda" The link is below the picture... so cool! Crafts By Amanda~ 7 Easter Egg Techniques (Click Here)
